FOUNDER FINANCIAL COPILOT

Founders need to make high-stakes decisions quickly, yet financial data is often scattered, delayed, or difficult to interpret. The challenge was to design a dashboard that compresses financial awareness into seconds — surfacing runway risk, burn trends, and strategic signals without overwhelming the user.

I analyzed modern finance tools such as Stripe, Ramp, and Mercury to understand how complex financial information can be structured for rapid executive scanning. The research focused on: Information hierarchy for high-stakes dashboards, cognitive load reduction, executive decision workflows, and visual clarity in data-heavy environments. The goal was to create a system where founders can understand their financial position in under three seconds. Key insights: Founders prioritize runway visibility over granular expense tracking, executive dashboards must communicate risk in seconds, and overloaded financial tools increase decision anxiety.

The design centers on clarity, hierarchy, and decision velocity. Key design principles included: Progressive disclosure to prevent overwhelm, strong typographic contrast for fast scanning, modular cards for scalability, and strategic colour usage to signal risk and opportunity. The interface was built as a comprehensive design system, ensuring consistency across metrics, alerts, and AI-driven insights while supporting future product expansion. Optimized for rapid executive scanning under cognitive load.

The result is a modern executive dashboard that translates financial complexity into immediate awareness — empowering founders to act with confidence rather than react with uncertainty.
